Blast Japanese City Pop Through the Night With The Launch of SUKE Highway in Malaysia

Prepare your playlist of 80’s Japanese City Pop for night drives! The brand new SUKE Highway is offering one month of free toll entry to celebrate the grand opening of Phrase 1! This brand-new 16.6 KM route takes you all the way from Cheras-Kajang Interchange to Bukit Antarabangsa. The second half of the route of Sri Petaling, Sungai Besi, and Alam Damai interchanges will be the last three to be finished as quoted by The Rakyat Post.

The all-new Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) is a 24.4 KM, three-lane, dual-carriageway that runs from Sri Petaling to Ulu Kelang. Decked with 14 interchanges and reaching out to over 60 residential areas, the SUKE Highway will be connected to major highways and roads in Kuala Lumpur. 

Currently, the newly launched Phase 1 of SUKE Highway has a 16.6 KM stretch and is expected to reduce traffic congestion in high-traffic areas such as Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) and Jalan Loke Yew by 30% and 12% as quoted by mysuke.com.my. The project also aims to shorten the travel distance between the two areas from 75 minutes to 25 minutes.

SUKE Highway Phrase 1 OpenedThe new SUKE Highway will surely be taking your ride to higher levels. Sitting at an elevated level of 56.4 meters tall, or the equivalent of an 18-story building. The first phase of SUKE will pass through the Cheras-Kajang highway and Cheras Hartamas. Listed below are the current exists and entrances available for your next cruise with the convoy:

SUKE Highway's Rest and Relax SpotIn addition, Phase 1 of SUKE Highway will consist of two toll plazas, notably the Bukit Teratai and the Ampang toll gate. A rest and relaxation area are also available for sightseers who wish to get a good photo-op of the city skyline.

Few keen-eyed netizens have been pointing out how much the brand new SUKE Highway has a resemblance to the infamous Tokyo Bayshore Route or Shuto Expressway for you petrolheads out there. For those itching to race down the new highway, the new route is armed to the teeth with 40 CCTVs and will be equipped with 22 emergency phones in case of a car crash, as reported recently put to use here. So, do consider taking your street racing activities to the track.

SUKE Highway’s second phase is reported to be completed by the first quarter of next year. Once completed, the highway gets an additional 7.8 KM that starts from Sri Petaling to Kesas Expressway and ends at Jalan Hulu Kelang.
