Lewis Hamilton unveils Petronas Syntium with CoolTech in Malaysia

Petronas Lubricants Marketing Malaysia has introduced a new range of Syntium with Cooltech. The company says that the lubricants are formulated to fight against excessive engine heat for better engine performance and efficiency.

 

The introduction of the lubricants was a media engagement session together with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, who was in Kuala Lumpur after the Singapore Grand Prix. Also present at the event was Eric Holthusen, Group CTO and Giuseppe D’Arrigo, Group CEO of Petronas Lubricants International.

 

The range comprises of the premium low-viscosity Syntium 7000 Ultimate Series, Petronas’ first oil for hybrid engines, marking Petronas Lubricants entry into the growing hybrid vehicle market. It meets the latest API SN Plus Specification and protects against Low-Speed Pre-Ignition for turbo charged direct injection gasoline powered vehicles. The full range of Petronas Syntium with CoolTech includes:

 

Syntium 7000 (Fully Synthetic) – SAE 0W-40, SAE 0W-20, SAE 0W-16

Syntium 7000 Hybrid (Fully Synthetic) – SAE Hybrid 0W-20

Syntium 3000 (Fully Synthetic) – SAE 5W-30

Syntium 3000 E (Fully Synthetic) – SAE 5W-40

Syntium 800 (Semi-Synthetic) – SAE 10W-40, SAE 5W-30

Syntium 500 (Mineral) – SAE 5W-30, SAE 15W-40, SAE 10W-30

 

Tests conducted by independent testing labs showed over 8% better thermal resistance, up to 15% better protection against deposit build-up compared to API SN Plus limit, over 50% better resistance to wear even under harsh conditions and up to 85% better oxidation resistance compared to the API SN Plus limit.
