What is the MyCRS Subsidy?
The MyCRS subsidy program aims to encourage Malaysian parents, especially those from B40 households, to invest in baby car seats for their children. By providing financial assistance, the government seeks to promote road safety and reduce the risk of child fatalities in accidents.
Eligible parents can apply for the subsidy online and redeem it at authorized retailers, making baby car seats more accessible and affordable for all families. The total subsidy given is a 50-percent deduction or up to RM150 from the selling price of the car seat. This means parents who purchase a car seat priced at RM300 and below get a 50-percent discount while those who purchase one at RM301 and above will get a flat RM150 discount. Below is the eligibility criteria for the MyCRS subsidy.
- Those under the B40 household category;
- Married with a child, adopted child, or foster child under the age of 12;
- Single parents, widows, or widowers with children under the age of 12;
- Adopted children must be registered with JPN;
- Must be citizens residing in Malaysia.
