New Hyundai Santa Fe officially on sale
Since the preview at last year’s KLIMS 2018, the all-new Santa Fe will be available in four variants and two engine options. Whether it’s the 2.4 MPI Petrol engine or the 2.2 CRDi Diesel, both types are offered with Executive or Premium variants.
In terms of power, the 2.4 MPI petrol is mated to a 6-speed auto and produces 170 hp and 225 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. As for the 2.2 CRDi turbodiesel, power is 190 hp and 440 Nm torque from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. This one is mated to an 8-speed auto with power going to Hyundai’s HTRAC AWD system.
The 7-seater SUV has been improved in space, and the second and third row has been increased. Boot space is now 547-litres with the third row down, up to 1,625-litres. For the Premium variants, features include Blind-spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning, Bi-function LED Projection, Dynamic Bending Light, 7-inch Supervision TFT LCD, 7-inch floating display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Power Tailgate, Wireless Phone Charger and more.
Safety features which are standard include Six Airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Downhill Brake Control, and Vehicle Stability Management and Traction Control System.
The Santa Fe 2.4 MPI Executive is priced at RM 169,888 and the Premium is RM 189,888. The 2.2 CRDi Executive is RM 191,888 and the Premium is RM 211,888. All comes with 50,000 km free service with 3 years’ validity and a 5-year or 300,000 km warranty (whichever comes first).
Perodua ramping up Child Car Seat campaign
Perodua is taking its child car seat safety campaign initiative to the next level ahead of the governments mandate on usage of child seats in vehicles beginning 2020. From now until 30th June 2019, they will be offering its GearUp Isofix child car seats at promotional prices of RM 660 for the infant seat and RM 780 for the toddler seat, reduced from RM 785 and RM 975 current price.
New Proton 3S in Seremban
Setia Auto Drive has officially opened a Proton 3S outlet and joins as the brand’s dealer. Located at Galla Industrial Park, the area is popular with other car brands and is strategically accessible from the PLUS highway and a 5-minute drive from the Plaza Toll Bandar Ainsdale and the Seremban-Labu exit.

New Toyota 2S centre in Taman Petaling Utama
A new Toyota service and spare parts outlet has opened in Taman Petaling Utama, a growing area between PJ, Puchong and Kinrara in Selangor. Operated by Laser Motor, whose operations includes outlets in Seremban that offers comprehensive aftersales and Body and Paint services. The service centre has 14 working bays to handle service and maintenance works, and 13 trained technicians.
The outlet is located at 30E, Jalan PJS 1/46, PJS 1, Taman Petaling Utama and opens weekdays Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5.30 pm excluding public holidays. Customers can call the centre at 03-7773 1818.
The 2019 Toyota Avanza is now on sale
The facelift Toyota Avanza joins the brand’s latest offerings and will be available in three variants, a 1.5E, 1.5S and 1.5S+. Power comes from a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol that outputs 103 hp and 136 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm and is mated to a 4-speed automatic. Drive goes to the rear.
Standard across all variants are Front Fog Lamps, Fabric Seats, USB Charging Port, Rear Air Conditioning, 2 SRS Airbags, ABS with EBD and Reverse Sensors.
As for the 1.5S and 1.5S+, 6-speakers come standard and so does the Sport combination meter with Multi Information Display. The S+ adds on a 6.75-inch touchscreen unit with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, Wifi, Voice Recognition, USB and Bluetooth, Front DVR, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The Avanza is priced at RM 80,888 (1.5E), RM 83,888 (1.5S) and RM 87,888 (1.5S+).
Volkswagen celebrates “togetherness” this Raya
From now until 30th June 2019, VW is offering additional savings on selected models, low interest rate of 1.88% per annum for the Passat and a RM 1,000 petrol card for all models booked and registered before then. From the list of deals, those interested can get savings from RM 8,000 and RM 6,000 on the Vento Comfortline and Highline respectively, RM 15,000 on the Passat Comfortline among others. There’s also 20% discount for owners due for an aircond service or filter replacement, and an ongoing Continental tyre promo with free installation, alignment and balancing depending on the tyre packages.
