Things have picked up this April month. Ford and Mercedes-Benz have new showrooms and service centres, new variants and accessories pack from Jaguar, Kia and Volkswagen, while Perodua commits to parts supply for their older cars and Mitsubishi customers in Kuching Sarawak can now get their cars serviced from a mobile service vehicle!
Jaguar F-Pace 2.0L Ingenium
Previously available in only the higher end 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has introduced a new 2.0-litre Ingenium variant in three trims – Prestige, R-Sport (Mid-Spec) and R-Sport (Hi-Spec). Power from the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit outputs 247 hp and 365 Nm of torque from 1,200 rpm and is paired to an eight-speed automatic that sends power to the all-wheel drive system. Features include a surround camera system and adaptive cruise control with queue assist. The price for the F-Pace 2.0 Prestige is RM 425,800; R-Sport (Mid-Spec) RM 476,800 and R-Sport (Hi Spec) RM 498,800.
Kia Grand Carnival 2.2D SX
The SX variant introduced is now the highest specified variant priced at RM 188,888. The SX now is featured with HID headlamps with diamond glitter LED positioning lights, the new grille with chrome pins, revised front bumper with fog lamps, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, as well as a Rear Entertainment System with Wifi connectivity. There’s also an additional sliding centre console tray for the second row seats, new in this SX. Power is from the similar 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel outputting 190 hp with 440 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm mated to a six-speed automatic.
Auto Commerz launches first Mercedes-Benz service centre
The Mercedes-Benz Auto Commerz 2S Service Centre recently opened in Setapak is located just 950 metres away from the brand’s Auto Commerz Autohaus. The service centre is equipped with state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz approved diagnostic tools and equipment operated by professionally trained Mercedes Certified Service Specialists. The work bays have the capacity to service up to 200 vehicles per month and is located at No 14, Jalan Usahawan 5, Kawasan Perusahaan PKNS, Setapak. Mitsubishi Mobile Service unit now in Kuching
Introduced as a means to serve Mitsubishi customers living in rural areas off Kuching, Sarawak, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s latest mobile service unit is equipped with the brand’s Multi Use Tester Diagnostic Scanner, hydraulic jack with stand, air compressor and tool sets. The unit will also carry spare parts such as oil filters, lubricants and its own generator for power supply. The mobile unit will travel as far as 150 km radius of Kuching to towns such as Sematan, Lundu, Bau, Serian and Simunjan. Perodua commits to continue to supply parts for previous Myvi’s
Perodua has opened a new parts production line dedicated to the second-generation Myvi, certifying their commitment to continue to provide parts supply for selected former Perodua models. Operated by IQM Sdn Bhd at Tanjung Malim facility, the line produces body components of hoods, doors, fenders, quarter panels and roofs. For owners of other Perodua models, fret not as parts for the Viva, first-generation Myvi, Kelisa and Kancil are still being produced by vendors today.
New Ford showroom in Kuching, Sarawak
Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) has opened a new Ford dealer facility in Kuching. The Kuching showroom houses sales, service and spare parts under one roof to meet the range of customers needs. The facility features a six-vehicle showroom, 13-vehicle service bay and a dedicated customer service lounge with complimentary Wifi. Volkswagen Tiguan Comfortline is Wild
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has introduced a ‘Wild’ package for the Tiguan Comfortline. The ‘Wild’ package adds aluminium sports pedals, chrome trunk garnish, chrome load lip protector, chrome exhaust trim, scuff plates with Tiguan logo and VW Tint window film. The ‘Wild’ package retails at RM 5,099. Power comes from the same 1.4-litre turbocharged engine with a six-speed automatic wet-clutch DSG with an output of 148 hp and 250 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm.
