Volkswagen Golf R-Line Showcased At Malaysia Autoshow 2018 – TSI With R Looks

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) officially unveiled the new Golf R-Line at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018, completing the new Golf family line-up in Malaysia. The event marks the Golf R-Line’s first public appearance in the country.

 

The R-Line takes inspiration from the Sportline, it has a 1.4 litre TSI turbocharged engine as well as a 7-speed dry clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG). It gives the car an impressive output of 148 hp and a torque of 250Nm between 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. The century sprint takes 8.2 seconds, and the top speed goes up to 216 km/h.

Safety wise, the R-Line is equipped with 7 airbags, and comes with Maneuver Braking (which automatically brakes the car when it senses object up 10km/h during parking. Also available is Automatic Post Collision Brake System, Rest Assist and Proactive Occupant Protection System.

 

In terms of connectivity, the Golf R-Line offers a 12.3-inch Active Info Display and 8-inch screen Composition Media with App-Connect. Other key features include LED headlights, 2-Zone Cllimatronic air conditioning system. Driving mode selections include Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual. 

 

The Golf R-Line is decked in the ‘R-Line’ styling package which includes the ‘R-Line’  front and rear bumper, rear spoiler, ‘R-Line’ badges on radiator grille and side panels, and 17-inch Singapore alloy wheels.

 

Priced at RM 166,990, the all new Golf R-Line is available in Tumeric Yellow, Atlantic Blue, Pure White, Deep Black, White Silver and Indium Grey.
