BMW unveils X3 xDrive30i with M Sport package
You can now get the locally assembled X3 xDrive30i with the M Sport package in a limited run. The additional M Sport Package is a perfect combination of the sporty and aggressive outlook of the X4 with the space and practicality of the X3. With only 120 units available, the kit comes with 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Double Spoke Style 699 M with mixed and run-flat tyres, M Sport suspension, M Sport brake, and M Aerodynamic body styling. The BMW X3 xDrive30i retails for RM 328,800.

The Elite M Card for owners of BMW M Performance vehicles will get to enjoy local and regional M Track events at exclusive prices. Cardholders can also benefit from additional discounts for BMW Driver Training events and BMW lifestyle merchandise. Additionally, they will also be given priority service appointments and Reception at the Car at all BMW M Service Outlets and M Dealerships, loyalty discounts for repeat BMW M customers as well as a dedicated page within the BMW Group Loyalty+ Mobile App.
Ford’s Driving Skills for Life programme promotes safe driving
The company through its local distribution partner Sime Darby Auto Connexion organised a safe driver training programme that saw more than 30 drivers on a half-day workshop at MAEPS. According to MIROS, more than 43% of Malaysian drivers use their mobile phones while driving and only less than 10% of rear passengers wear seatbelt. The workshop addressed various driver risk with trainings focusing in four main areas including distractions, hazard recognition, speed and space management, and vehicle handling.
New Kia 3S centre in Tampoi Johor Bahru
Naza Kia has opened the latest 3S outlet in Tampoi Johor Bahru in partnership with authorised dealer Supreme Priority. Located along Jalan Tampoi, the centre has a built-up area of 18,000 square feet with capacity to display a total of 7 vehicles in the showroom and accommodate 100 cars per month with its two service hoist bays. The 3S is aimed to service the needs of Kia customers in Tampoi New Village, Skudai, Nusajaya and Larkin. The 3S is located at Lot 703, No. 58, Jalan Tampoi, Tampoi New Village, 81200 Johor Bahru.
Perodua works with government agency on anti-littering campaign
Perodua earlier last month collaborated with the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corp (SWCorp) on the latter’s 1:0 ‘One Vehicle, Zero Litter’ campaign to discourage littering from vehicles. The campaign saw volunteers give away 500 in-vehicle mini-bins to motorists, reminding them to bring their litter home instead of throwing it out of their vehicles. “We hope Malaysians can reduce, reuse and recycle their waste as far as possible. We all have to start somewhere. After our own homes, the car is the next place we spend the most time in, and if we can keep our cars clean, the rest of our lives will follow,” CEO Dato Zainal Abidin said.
New Proton 3S centre opens in Kota Kinabalu and Kuantan
Harapan Maju has officially open a new Proton 3S centre in Kota Kinabalu. The new outlet has a built-up area of 1,686 square meters and consists of 12 service bays and 6 service hoists and the parking lot can accommodate up to 50 cars. Amenities such as free Wifi, coffee bar, laptop charging area, kids’ area as well as prayer room are available in the showroom. Harapan Maju is the second dealer outlet in KK. Sales for East Malaysia increased by 22% compared to the same period last year whilst in Sabah, the increase is at 32%.
In Kuantan, Pesat Auto has opened a new 3S, bringing the dealer outlets in the area to three. Consisting of 6 bays, 4 hoists and a build-up area of 750 square meters, the company is confident that this outlet will boost sales by about 30% with service throughput possibly increase by 40%. To date Proton has 102 outlets with 3S and 4S status in operations nationwide.
Shell collaborates with enforcement to combat illegal lubricants
As part of its continuous effort to protect the brand’s integrity and ensure customers only receive genuine Shell products, Shell Malaysia is driven to strengthen its collaboration with enforcement agencies to combat the presence of lubricants that are being passed of as genuine Shell products to unsuspecting consumers and workshops. It recently held special training workshops to equip agencies with the knowledge on how to differentiate genuine Shell lubricants from counterfeit and illegal products. The brand advises consumers to only buy official genuine Shell lubricants with ‘Untuk Pasaran Malaysia’ labels complete with QR codes that can be authenticated via Share website.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet offers 100% toll rebates with the ultimate toll savings campaign
The Ultimate Toll Savings provide a more rewarding, safe and seamless journey for its users, specifically for toll payments. Now until 31 October 2019, users who add their TNG cards to the eWallet for the first time are eligible to receive three times 100% toll rebates. Users who also make toll payments using eWallet via PayDirect or RFID until the period also get to receive a free Personal Accident insurance coverage valid until 31 December 2019.
VW VIP insurance plan for comprehensive coverage
VCPM has announced its insurance program titled Volkswagen Insurance Plan or ‘VIP’. The VIP policy holder gets benefits that include prioritised claim approval, roadside assistance with 24-hour emergency towing, and assurance that repair work is conducted at authorised Volkswagen body and paint centres, in accordance to VW repair standards with only genuine parts used. There are no excess fees, no betterment cost and an agreed value of up to 10 years. This is applicable to all VW models regardless of vehicle age.
