Proton has unveiled official photos for the facelift Iriz and Persona, Honda releases a Mugen Jazz and BR-V Special Edition, BMW now has product geniuses to help you familiarise with the range, and Perodua officially has over 100,000 new Myvi’s on the road!

BMW Malaysia has introduced the BMW Product Genius Programme, with seven individuals trained and deployed to three dealerships in Klang Valley. Their role complements that of a Sales Advisor, as they are focused on acquainting customers with every aspect of the BMW vehicle portfolio, from conducting needs analyses, product presentations to facilitating test drives. The first batch of Product Geniuses are now in three dealerships – Auto Bavaria KL, Auto Bavaria Glenmarie and Ingress Auto Damansara.

 

Ford Ranger Experience Roadshow

The roadshow which has been running since mid-February, continues to the Auto Lumina Showroom in Johor Bahru on the 9th to 10th March and at the SDAC Juru Showroom in Penang on the 22nd and 23rd March. Visitors will be able to explore and experience the Ranger’s smart and safe technologies, as well as have family-friendly activities such as plinko, rubber duck and a kids colouring corner to keep children entertained. Those who have test drives during the roadshow will stand a chance to enter the Ford wind tunnel to win attractive and exclusive Ford merchandise.

 

Honda Jazz Mugen and BR-V Special Edition now available

Those looking at the Honda Jazz and BR-V but want something a little more, should check out the latest special editions. The Jazz Mugen is fitted with an all-round Mugen body kit for a sportier outlook, with a new front aero bumper, LED fog lights and additional spoilers throughout the exterior.

As for the BR-V special edition, the 7-seater crossover has an additional tailgate spoiler, running board and side step garnish. Inside, the BR-V SE is equipped with a 6.8-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. A new colour has also been introduced, a Passion Red Pearl that replaces the Dark Ruby Red Pearl.

The Jazz Mugen is priced from RM 88,600 depending on colour, and similarly the BR-V SE starts from RM 90,700 depending on colour. Both models are limited to only 300 units each.

 

Isuzu maintains No.1 spot for Commercial Vehicle brand in Malaysia

It is the fifth consecutive year in a row that Isuzu Malaysia has taken the top spot as Malaysia’s preferred commercial vehicle brand for 2018 according to overall sales figures released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA). The brand ended 2019 with a total combined sale of 6,036 units of trucks from various segments, and a lead of 584 units against their main competitor.

 

New Mitsubishi 3S centre in Cheras

The new 3S centre is from authorised dealer Evatrend, and is located at Jalan Midah 1, Taman Midah. The centre also houses a fully-equipped workshop with parts storage area for Mitsubishi vehicles and comes with a modern façade, with fully equipped advance diagnostic tools and special set tools to serve every Mitsubishi vehicle. With this new opening, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is now represented by 53 showrooms of 47 3S centres and 52 service outlets throughout the country. In East Malaysia, there are 14 showrooms in total, with 6 in Sarawak and 8 in Sabah.

 

Perodua is doing well with Myvi and Aruz

Just mid this month, Perodua has hit a milestone with the Myvi. They have officially delivered over 100,000 units of the third gen model. Cumulatively of all Myvi generations, Perodua has sold nearly 1.1 million Myvi’s. As for 2018, the brand posted a record 227,243 cars sold.

Even for the first month of 2019, they have been off to a good start, with over 20,100 vehicles sold. The Aruz have also been well received with 8,000 bookings so far.

 

Facelifted Proton Iriz and Persona unveiled

With the Proton X70 getting its fair share of publicity, the brand hasn’t forgotten about its other vehicles in its portfolio. As for February, the brand has release official images for the upcoming facelifted Iriz and Persona.

 

The front of both vehicles now sport the “Ethereal Bow” and “Infinite Weave” patterns into the facelift. There’s also LED daytime running lamps that adds a sophisticated touch to the overall design.

 

At the back, the Proton name is now spelt out on the tailgate garnish in place of the logo. The alloy wheel designs also finish off the new look.

But for both vehicles, the interior equipment that includes more connectivity and voice command functions are the highlight. As for the full details, the brand will release more specifications at a closer launch date.

 

Volvo Car Malaysia appoints new MD

Nalin Jain has been appointed as the new Managing Director for Volvo Car Malaysia beginning 1st March 2019, succeeding Lennart Stegland. Mr Jain comes from his previous role as Chief Financial Officer of Volvo Auto India and over 20 years of experience in the automotive, consulting, and technology fields.

 

As for Mr Stegland, after 40 years of service with Volvo Cars, leading in positions of Research and Development, Marketing and Sales, and Managing various National Sales Companies, he will be retiring from the organisation. Those within the automotive community who knows Mr Stegland’s extraordinary contribution to the company will certainly miss his wealth of knowledge and experience.

 

VW Kota Bumi 3S center in Sabah now open!

The 3S centre located at Inanam is in one of the automotive hubs in the area. It will cater and serve Volkswagen owners in the region including Inanam, Menggatal, Lintas, Kolombong, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Sepanggar. Volkswagen Kota Bumi is the only authorised VW dealership in Sabah, bringing the total VW 3S centres in Malaysia to 18.

 

The centre is able to display two cars, have an aftersales area of four service bays manned by three experienced aftersales staff and is capable of servicing up to 16 cars daily. Other services include insurance and vehicle trade-ins, road tax renewal, engine overhaul, and 24 hours’ breakdown assistance. As an added value service, the Kota Bumi 3S also provides pick-up and delivery services to customers upon request, as well as a free car wash.

Volkswagen Kota Bumi 3S opens Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and is closed on Sundays.

 

VW Tour 2019 kicks off 28 Feb till 3rd March 2019!
