There's a software update for Toyota Prius manufactured from 2009 to 2013, Sime Darby expands sales and service networks throughout the country, Mitsubishi Motors has cash rebates till the end of the year, and Naza launches the updated Peugeot 308 THP.

 

New BMW iCharging facilities in Ipoh and Penang

BMW Malaysia has unveiled four new BMW iCharging outlets at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat in Ipoh and Iconic Hotel in Penang. With almost 10,000 iPerformance vehicles in the country, Malaysia is among the top three markets for the brand’s plug-in hybrid vehicles. To date, there’s over 300 of BMW vehicles in Perak and over 400 in Penang, an indication of the growth of PHEVs locally. These charging stations arrive following the introduction of one by Tian Siang Premium Auto at WEIL Hotel, Ipoh and Holiday Inn Melaka, The Equitorial Melaka and at CityOne Megamall in Kuching Sarawak.

 

Ford Everest facelift now available

Earlier this month, SDAC introduced the facelifted Ford Everest in two variants, a 2.0-litre Trend and 2.0 Bi-turbo Titanium mated to a 10-speed automatic to replace the previous 2.2 and 3.2-litre five-cylinder engines. Power is now 178 hp and 210 hp respectively. In terms of drive, Ford’s Terrain Management System are now available on both variants with safety closely similar including seven airbags, ESC, traction control, ABS and EBD. The Everest Trend is priced from RM 228,888 and the Titanium at RM 258,888.

 

Hyundai expands sales & service network

Hyundai Sime Darby Motors is expanding its sales and service network in Peninsular Malaysia at five locations, namely Seri Kembangan, Alor Setar, Sungai Petani, Muar and Menglembu to provide better access to its products and service. As the brand has covered most of the popular cities and town areas in all states, opening up more sales and service centres in the suburbs make the brand more accessible for Hyundai owners living outside city areas. Limited Mitsubishi Outlander Sports Edition now available

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has introduced the limited edition Outlander Sports. Only 120 units available, the Sports Edition is based on the Outlander 2.0 but with aesthetic updates. From the duo-tone sporty black rood with red metallic paint, black rims and grille, with improved interior kit like a dual DVD entertainment and a red accent carpet mat. Priced at RM 142,888, the Outlander Sports Edition comes with five-years warranty with unlimited mileage.

 

Mitsubishi Motors year end rebates!

From now until end December 2018, customers who book and register a new Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 and 2.4 will receive year end cash rebates up to RM 8,000. For the Triton pick-up truck, all variants get RM 8,000 rebates except for the Triton Quest at RM 5,000. For ASX 2WD and 4WD, rebates are up to RM 8,000. Customers that service their vehicles throughout November 2018 will receive a 20 per cent discount on selected parts, additives at an attractive price. The Triton range is priced from RM 95,610; ASX from RM 118,866; and Outlander from RM 137,888.

 

Peugeot 308 THP facelift now available

Naza has introduced the facelifted 308 THP. At the front, the bumper is now sportier with more prominent air intakes. Underneath, the 1.6-litre engine has been increased in power, now with 165 hp. Inside, the car is similar, but now lacks a panoramic glass roof and the massage function in the seats. In terms of features, there’s dual-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, Apple Carplay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity. The 308 THP is priced from RM 129,888 on-the-road without insurance and comes with a five-year, 120,000 km warranty.

 

Shell launches BingoBox Retail store at Jalan Tun Razak station

As petrol station marts have operating hours, Shell has launched the latest BingoBox Retail that allows users to have a seamless shopping experience at any time of the day. Customers need to scan a QR code available on the BingoBox app, place their selected items on a checkout counter that will automatically provide the total amount of the transaction. Payments can be made via debit or credit card, BingoBox mobile app or Boost’s e-wallet.

 

Toyota Prius 1.8 software update required

UMW Toyota has announced a special service campaign to update the hybrid software of the Toyota Prius 1.8 hybrid variant. A total of 6,160 units of the Prius 1.8 Hybrid manufactured from 2009 to 2013, sold in Malaysia by UMW Toyota is involved in the campaign. The recall serves to provide an additional remedy to the vehicles involved in the previous recall announced in 2014. The update of ECU programming will be free of change and will require an hour of service. Owners of affected cars can contact any authorised Toyota service centre of Toyota Freephone at 1800-8-869682 (TOYOTA).
