The Mercedes-Benz Hybrid Battery Extended Warranty Adds 4 More Years

To formally address the recent viral photo of an invoice on the replacement cost of a E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid battery, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced a Hybrid Battery Extended Warranty programme. For the price of RM 2,688, customers of the Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid and S 400h will be able to extend the battery warranty for an additional 4 years on top of the standard 4 years warranty.

This will now provide owners a peace of mind for their hybrid vehicles as it covers 100 per cent for the repair or replacement of the hybrid battery for up to 8 years or 180,000 km whichever comes first. Of course the terms and conditions of the Warranty programme must be met to receive the extended coverage. This includes the vehicle’s continued service and maintenance at authorised Mercedes-Benz service centres during the additional warranty period.

MBM has also announced that the new recommended retail price for the batteries are RM 50,000 for the E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid and RM 65,000 for the S 400h hybrid. The brand has also mentioned that they are continuously seeking to ensure that their customers have the optimal cost of ownership through the provision of market adequate pricing of their older vehicles.
