The wait is no more. BMW Malaysia has unveiled the locally assembled 330i M Sport, six months after the official launch in March 2019. Assembled in Kulim alongside eight other BMW models, the 330i M Sport joins in the local CKD portfolio.
There’s nothing to be missed out as the CKD specifications is identical to the fully imported variant. In terms of power, the 330i still features the same 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission producing 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque from 1,550 to 4,400 rpm. Century sprint is just 5.8-seconds while fuel consumption figure is 6.1-litres per 100 km.
The interior features the same 12.3-inch fully digital Live Cockpit Professional instrument cluster and 10.25-inch Navigation System Professional, the touchscreen unit now runs on BMW OS 7.0 with a new user interface.
The CKD model still includes the Digital Key that will allow selected NFC enabled Samsung mobile phones to unlock the car when placed close to the door handle, and start the engine when the phone is placed on the wireless charging base inside.
On top of that, the Parking Assistant with Reversing Assist that remembers the way you manoeuvred into a parking space every 50 metres. This way, the Reversing Assist will be able to semi-autonomously reverse out of those tight spots at low speeds. To add on, there’s three-zone climate control, cruise control with braking function, Qi wireless charging, 4 USB ports (one USB-A and three USB-C), and 10 speakers.
For the safety front, there’s Airbags for the driver and front passenger including the Sides and Curtain Airbags from front to rear, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Cornering Brake Control, Dynamic Brake Control, ABS and Brake Assist. It is no saying that Run-flat tyres and flat tyre indicator are included, as is LED fog lamps, automatic windscreen wipers and driving lights as well.
Now comes the best part, the 330i M Sport can be owned with monthly instalment plans starting from RM 3,298 (based on estimate of an 80% loan on a 5-year tenure). Ownership includes 5-year Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service, 2-year Tyre Warranty Programme and more.
The locally assembled BMW 330i M Sport retails for RM 288,800 on the road without insurance and comes in Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Mineral Grey. Portimao Blue and Sunset Orange will only be available in January and March 2020 onwards. Interior options include Black or Cognac Vernasca leather.
