Perodua’s Aruz 7-Seater SUV is Now Open for Booking!

After several teases, Perodua has finally revealed more about the latest seven-seater Aruz SUV which will be launched soon. The Aruz is now open for booking. Here are the details.

Variants and Features

Perodua’s all-new Aruz is based on the Toyota Rush. There will be two variants on offer, a 1.5 X and 1.5 Advance. While the full vehicle feature list isn’t provided, the 1.5 Advance variant will be at the top of the options. Features include Auto Lights, Leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel, Driving Video Recorder, and HDMI port to accompany the charging ports available on all three rows in the SUV.

Advance Safety Assist 2.0

It is also most certain that the Aruz 1.5 Advance will be the variant to have the Advance Safety Assist 2.0 safety suite, which adds on pedestrian detection (up to 50 km/h) for the Pre-Collision Warning and Pre-Collision Braking, of which now have higher operational speeds of 100 km/h for warning and 80 km/h for braking. Not to forget that the suite also includes Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control.

Standard for all variants

Both variants will come as standard with LED headlights with follow-me-home function, keyless entry with push-start, rear air-conditioning vents, reverse camera, built-in toll reader (SmartTAG) and six airbags. Following up with safety, the Aruz has been awarded with a 5-star Asean NCAP and comes with VSC, Hill Start Assist and Isofix.

Power

The engine in the Aruz is the same 1.5-litre unit found in the Myvi. Although output is not disclosed yet, it should output 104 hp and 136 Nm of torque and would be paired to a four-speed automatic transmission similar to that of the Toyota Rush.

Seating and Comfort

The seats in the Aruz will be split 60:40 for the second row, and 50:50 for the third row; with both rows having the ability to fold and tumble. All three rows also have charging ports for convenience. The seats will also come with anti-snatch hooks and fold-away utility hooks like on new Perodua models.

Colours and Price

The Aruz will come in colours of Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Electric Blue, Granite Grey and a new Amazon Green. The Aruz 1.5 X will be priced at RM 72,200 while the 1.5 AV at RM 77,200. Prices are on-the-road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. East Malaysia prices are RM 74,500 and RM 79,500 respectively.
