Nissan’s 7-Seater Serena S-Hybrid Is The Latest Addition Tailored For Families

The All-New Nissan Serena 2.0L S-Hybrid has been launched by Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM). As a great addition for families, the all-new Nissan Serena S-Hybrid comes with a completely new design and sporty appearance, not forgetting space! Two trims are available at launch a Premium Highway Star and Highway Star.

Present at the launch was Vincent Wijnen, VP of Marketing and Sales, Asia and Oceania, Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co. “In many ways, the Nissan Serena is a strong symbol of Nissan itself. It has consistently been one of the most popular passenger cars. In fact, this calendar year, it’s number-one in its class in Japan, with more than 33,000 units sold so far”, he said.

Locally assembled, the new Serena is powered by a 2.0L direct-injected twin-CVTC four-cylinder petrol engine. It’s power output stands at 148 hp at 6,000 rpm with a torque of 200 Nm at 4,400 rpm. The unit is paired to XTRONIC CVT with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). Adoption of the new Dual Arm Tensioner (DAT) works to maintain optimal tensile force on the belt to reduce friction, reduce power lost and increase fuel efficiency.

Improvements have been given to engine, resulting in a 2.8 per cent improvement in power to weight ratio. It also has the best-in-class fuel economy of 14.2 km/ litre which is a 13 per cent fuel economy improvement over its predecessor, thus providing the all-new Serena S-Hybrid an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status.

The locally assembled MPV also offers new technologies beginning with Hands-Free Dual Power Sliding Door which operates by a simple quick kick below the door to open or close in case your hands are full. Dual Back Door can be opened easily in tight parking space, also Capless Fuel Filler makes refuelling more convenient, and there are 7 USB-Powered Ports for each passenger’s electronic device charging needs.

The modern and premium interior of the vehicle is a plus for both drivers and passengers. It has a full colour 7-inch Advance Drive Assist Display (ADAD) which provides vehicle and driving information. Other than that, there is a Flat Bottom Leather Steering Wheel with Cruise Control, an asymmetrical centre cluster housing the premium 6.75-inch Clarion Advanced Touchscreen Display Audio, push start ignition with Intelligent Key for keyless entry and a Dual-Zone Auto Climate Control System.

For matters concerning safety, 6-SRS Airbags are now standard in the all-new Serena S-Hybrid. Other safety features include Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and ISOFIX Child Seat Restraint system for 2nd row seats.

The Nissan Serena S-Hybrid Highway Star comes with a fresh new colour, Cashmere Gold along with three current colours; Diamond Black, Brilliant White and Tungsten Silver.

On the other hand, the Premium Highway Star offers a Two-Tone exterior colour design with Brilliant White (Body) and Diamond Black (Roof), Tungsten Silver (Body) and Diamond Black (Roof), and Cashmere Gold (Body) and Imperial Umber (Roof).

For its prices, the all-new Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is at RM 147,500 for the Premium Highway Star and RM 135,500 for the Highway Star (OTR price without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia), with a 5-year Unlimited Mileage Warranty. In addition, a 3-year/ 60,000km (whichever comes first) Maintenance Service promotion is offered as part of the launch campaign.
