CARSOME and MY Classic Cars Bring Merdeka Joy to Klang Valley Orphanages

People usually know CARSOME as a platform to buy and sell cars, but the company recently decided to do something a little different. To celebrate Merdeka, CARSOME teamed up with MY Classic Cars to create a memorable day out for some local youth.

Vintage Rides and Unforgettable Smiles

The morning kicked off at Carfe in Petaling Jaya, where about 65 classic and vintage cars lined up for a special convoy. Instead of just looking at the vehicles from afar, children from eight different Klang Valley orphanages actually got to hop in and ride them all the way to Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS). The kids were thrilled to point out the vintage designs and chat with the car owners during the journey.

Games, Performances and Giveaways

Once the convoy arrived at the golf club, the day was packed with activities to keep everyone entertained. The children played Simon Says and Rock, Paper, Scissors, with a few lucky winners taking home prizes like color pencils and a toy bear. Everyone then enjoyed a shared lunch while watching dance routines put on by the children’s homes and joining in on a big sing-along. To wrap up the fun, the kids received merchandise from various sponsors along with CARSOME goodie bags packed with sand art and even more color pencils.

Meaningful Community Support

CARSOME cash aid

Beyond the fun activities, the event delivered direct financial support to the community. The contributions for the day included:

  • RM 34,400 raised in cash donations by participants and sponsors, meaning each of the 8 homes received RM 4,300.
  • RM 2,000 in direct cash contributions from CARSOME.
  • Essential supplies including food and daily necessities provided directly to the homes.

Spreading the Spirit of Merdeka

Sambutan Merdeka

At the end of the day, the true highlight of this gathering was simply making the kids happy. Bringing some genuine cheer to their routine and putting big smiles on their faces was the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Merdeka.
