Perodua & Bezza Edit
The Perodua Bezza is an A-segment car and also Perodua’s first-ever sedan. Perodua has a knack for making economical and feature-packed cars for the people, and the Bezza is the brand’s answer to people who’re looking for an affordable, all-rounded family car. It was introduced in 2016 and received a facelift in 2020 which added Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (A.S.A) 2.0 on the top variant.
Perodua Bezza Variants
There are four variants of the Perodua Bezza in Malaysia. The 1.0 G (Manual) and 1.0 G (Auto) are powered by a 1.0L engine, while the 1.3 X and 1.3 AV are powered by a 1.3L engine. Both 1.3 X and 1.3 AV variants are only available with an automatic transmission.

For its price, the Perodua Bezza has impressive interior finishing and features. All variants have a black monotone instrument panel with silver-painted garnish, white illumination combination meter, chrome-finished inside door handles, a 12 V power socket, and a steering wheel with audio switches. The 1.3 X and 1.3 AV variants have semi-bucket front seats while the 1.0 G variants have standard-type seats. Fabric seats are standard on the 1.0 G and 1.3 X. Exclusive finishings on the 1.3 AV include leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The Perodua Bezza has quite a handsome exterior especially after its facelift in 2020. All variants have standard front and rear bumpers with two-tone side skirtings, glossy black front grille with chrome finish, LED headlights, LED taillights and brake light, as well as chrome-finished outer door handles. Additionally, the 1.3 X and 1.3 AV have front fog lamps which are not available on the 1.0 G variants.
Although it is an A-segment sedan with compact dimensions, the Perodua Bezza can actually fit five adults comfortably. Overall, it measures 4,170 mm long, 1,620 mm wide, and 1,525 mm tall. Inside, the interior cabin space measures 1,900 mm long, 1,385 mm wide, and 1,240 mm tall. It also has a class-leading boot space of 508-liters which is even comparable to some C-segment sedans.
The 1.0 G and 1.3 X variants of the Perodua Bezza have a standard audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, while the range-topping 1.3 AV has a touch screen multimedia system with navigation, “Smart Link” for Android, USB, Bluetooth, and HDMI connectivity. In terms of speakers, the 1.0 G only has two, while the 1.3 X and 1.3 AV have four speakers.
The 1.0 G manual and automatic variants are both powered by a 1.0L 3-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) engine while the 1.3 X and 1.3 AV have a 1.3L 4-cylinder engine with Dual VVT-i. Although it’s considered an affordable car, the Perodua Aruz doesn’t compromise when it comes to safety. It has a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Safety Rating and even Perodua’s A.S.A 2.0 (1.3 AV variant only). The 1.0 G variants only have basic safety features which are two SRS airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), ISOFIX, an anti-theft system with alarm, immobilizer, and panic button, as well as a driver’s side seat belt reminder.

A.S.A 2.0 is what Perodua calls its Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS). This system includes Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert, and Pedal Misoperation Control. With its affordable price, the Perodua Bezza is among the cheapest cars in the market to offer ADAS.
The Perodua Bezza provides plenty of features for its price besides excellent fuel economy. Although it might not be the most refined car, it has great value for money and is suitable for drivers from all walks of life be it a young adult new to the workforce, or as a second car for someone established.
