Earlier this morning, BMW Group Malaysia together with Tian Siang Premium Auto unveiled three new BMW i Charging Stations at the WEIL Hotel in Ipoh. This marks the brands fourth introduction of i Charging Stations after that at Holiday Inn Melaka, The Equitorial Melaka and CityONE Megamall in Kuching, Sarawak.
“Having charted an all-time high deliveries for our BMW iPerformance range of vehicles last year, and with Malaysia being the fifth largest market for BMW Hybrid with eDrive technology vehicles, we are pleased to be taking the lead in electro-mobility and future mobility in the country. In part, it is also important to continuously expand accessibility of charging stations to our customers, particularly through our network of authorised dealerships,” said Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia.
Why Ipoh? “With over 400 BMW vehicles sold in Perak alone last year, about half of which were iPerformance vehicles. It is only natural that we take a step forward to further develop the charging infrastructure together with our premium partners here in the state,” said Tan Ka Kin, Dealer Principal of Tian Siang Premium Auto.
Liew Yu-Wei, Executive Director of WEIL Hotel in Ipoh said, “With our strategic location as a transit hub for many local and international tourists, business travellers and families, we believe that the addition of BMW’s i Charging Stations will further provide our guests with a truly connected lifestyle.”
The brand’s portfolio of Visionary Mobility with their iPerformance vehicles is supported by the ChargEV platform and their partnership with Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. The BMW ChargeNow service allows their customers to access over more than 270 charging facilities nationwide; and growing.
