Bridgestone Malaysia appoints new MD
Bridgestone Tyre Sales Malaysia has appointed Michael Chung as Managing Director. Michael will lead sales and operations divisions at Bridgestone Malaysia with the aim of strengthening its overall business. Michael has almost 30 years of general management, manufacturing operations and sales and marketing experience. Before this appointment, he has served on the senior leadership team of several multinational companies, playing a pivotal role in their growth and successful expansion across the region. Goodyear updates Assurance DuraPlus range
Goodyear Malaysia has updated the range with the new Assurance DuraPlus 2 which comes with TredLife Technology that is designed to provide longer mileage and durability. It uses innovative tread design, cavity shape and re-formulated long-lasting compound and are capable of delivering tread life of up to 110,000 km without compromising on safety and performance. The tread pattern on the DuraPlus 2 comes with a symmetric design with a larger tread width which allows a larger surface area of the tyre to be in contact with the road at any time. The enhanced cavity shape helps provide a more squarish and balanced footprint to evenly distribute contact pressure, leading to extended mileage. The Assurance DuraPlus 2 is now available at Goodyear AutoCare centres in Malaysia with sizes ranging from 13 to 16 inches retailing between RM 136 to RM 293.
Hyundai 3S centre opens in Klang
A new Hyundai 3S centre has opened in Klang to serve customers in the area. Currently it is the only Hyundai centre in Klang with another 3S located in Port Klang. The 3S centre by MN Automart carries the Hyundai Global Dealership Space Identity and offers premium services and convenience to all its customers. MN Automart is wholly owned by MeGroup, which has eight years’ experience in the automotive industry, in particular managing premium passenger car brands. There are a total of nine Hyundai GDSI outlets in Klang Valley in addition to 3S centres, sales outlets and service centres nationwide. MN Automart showroom opens from 9 am to 6 pm weekdays and 10 am to 5 pm on Public Holidays and Sunday. Mercedes-Benz B200 Progressive Line now available
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced the availability of the all-new third-generation B200 Progressive Line that joins its compact car range. Powered by a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that outputs 161 hp and 250 Nm of torque from 1,620 to 4,000 rpm, mated to a 7G-DCT. The B200 accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 8.2-seconds.
Inside the cabin is a wrap-around that sweeps seamlessly from the doors to the dashboard and centre console. The widescreen cockpit features MBUX with touchscreen controls and the voice control with natural speech recognition – activated by saying “Hey Mercedes”.
Driving assistance systems include Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, and Active Parking Assist with Parktronic among others. The B200 Progressive Line is priced at RM 239,888 on the road without insurance.
Mitsubishi Motors year end Promotions 2019
Mitsubishi is offering Malaysians with a low interest rate of up to 0.88& for selected Triton variants exclusive with Maybank or Public Bank hire purchase only. This promo is in conjunction with the upcoming year-end festivities and promotion is valid until 31 December 2019. NZ Wheels opens Setapak Autohaus
The new 2S facility will complement the brand’s existing NZ Wheels Bangsar Autohaus and other two outlets. The Setapak outlet is fully equipped with state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz approved diagnostic tools and equipment and staffed by professionally trained Mercedes-Benz Certified Service Specialists.
The build up area of 9,200 square feet includes the service centre that has five mechanical work bays and one-wheel alignment bay. Peugeot and Citroen 3S outlet opens in Alor Setar
Nasim and Naza Euro Motors has come together with the launch of a bi-marque Peugeot and Citroen 3S dealership in Alor Setar, Kedah. The new outlet will provide customers up north with Peugeot and Citroen sales, service and spare parts facilities. The new outlet is furnished with a showroom that can display up to 8 cars.
The 15,000 square feet outlet has the capacity to service an average of 200 to 250 cars monthly with its five hoist bays. The outlet is located at 97 M&N, Batu 1 ¼ Mergong, Seberang Jalan Putera 05150 Alor Setar, Kedah. Proton 3S outlet opens in Kota Kinabalu
Shirba Auto World officially opened its new 3S outlet and is the third dealer outlet opened in the city. This 3S has 12 service bays, 6 service hoists as well as a comfortable customer lounge with free Wifi and ample car park bays for customers’ convenience. Proton’s ongoing efforts to encourage upgrading of its existing outlets has been strong. They now have 104 outlets both 3S and 4S nationwide. To date, East Malaysia saw a 31 per cent growth while Sabah’s increase was 39 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Proton offers Special Scheme for Government Employees and Fresh Grads
Proton together with Bank Rakyat are offering special financial packages for fresh grads and govt employees on specific Proton cars. Available until 31st December 2019, the package provides up to 100 per cent financing for fresh grads and government employees. The An-Naqlu 1 offers 90 per cent financing at 2.88 per cent per annum and An-Naqlu 2 offers 100 per cent financing at 3.30 per cent per annum. The offer is limited to new graduates aged between 20 to 30 years and govt employees from 18 to 60 years for the purchase of Persona, Iriz, Exora and Saga.
Renault Megane RS 280 Cup sets all-new Sepang lap time
The brand’s Renault Sport Track day this year saw a total 30 Renault Sport owners put their skills and vehicle performance to the test. TC Euro Cars also took the opportunity to conduct a timed run of the all-new Megane RS 280 Cup EDC which bettered the previously recorded lap time by 3-seconds. 2:38 mins versus 2:41 by the RS 265 Cup. The stock car runs on 19-inch Yokohama AD08R 245/35 tyres which were the official tyre sponsor for the event. The Megane RS 280 Cup EDC is priced at RM 299,888 on the road without insurance.
Toyota opens 3S outlet in Nilai
Another full-fledged Toyota 3S centre has opened in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan and is operated by Unitedstar Corporation. The outlet has a service centre with 10 bays and joins the Toyota authorised network of over 90 outlets which provide sales and aftersales services to the increasing number of customers nationwide.
