BMW and partners come together to advocate use of child car seats

BMW Malaysia has partnered with Childline Foundation to introduce ‘From Day One’ campaign that advocates the importance of child car seats. Together with Safe ‘n Sound, a distributor of child car seats and baby gear, the partnership extends to a subsidy programme that will first be introduced to five government hospitals across Klang Valley. A total of 150 infant carrier car seats will be subsidised at RM 100 each. Hospital personnel will learn the best child safety practices from Childline Foundation’s passenger safety consultants while child passenger safety talks and consultations will also be offered to parents who attend antenatal classes at these hospitals.

Goodyear donates tyres to SK Section 20 school in Shah Alam

Goodyear Malaysia recently donated tyres to Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 20, Shah Alam (SK 20) for the school’s recreational activities and workshop training to impart the importance in recycling in student. Other than using the tyres for practical purposes, SK 20 sims to reuse them and create sculptures that would offer a differentiated learning environment for its students. The initiative was spearheaded by Aizatul Ashraf, a teacher at SK 20 who noticed the bare school grounds. At the handover ceremony, Ashraf said: “School children absorb information and knowledge from many sources, including their surroundings. By showing how the tyres are used as pots for plants and decorations around the school, I hope that they learn that everything can be put to good use with the right mindset.”

Over 100 pre-owned Kia’s for sale this weekend!

This 28th to 30th June 2019, Naza Kia will be hosting a carnival-themed Kia Pre-Owned Fest at Naza Automall in PJ. There will be close to 200 pre-owned Kia’s for sale with prices as low as RM 8,000! Those looking at a Kia will also be able to view the full Kia range, including the Sportage, Sorento and even the Stinger. It will be open from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm, and is catered for the whole family, with fun activities and lucky draws up for grabs.

Lexus NX 300 now updated with Lexus Safety System +

Bookings are now open for the 2019 Lexus NX 300 Urban Luxury. Three variants of the NX 300 will be available – a Premium, Urban and F-Sport. Lexus Safety System+ is the highlight here, and comes with Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Pre-collision Brake Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Active Cornering Assist (ACA), Parking Support Alert and Adaptive High-beam System (AHS). Prices are RM 313,888 for the Urban, RM 333,888 for the Premium and RM 349,888 for the F Sport.

New Mitsubishi showroom in Bintulu, Sarawak

Mitsubishi Malaysia together with Auto Pacifica Sdn Bhd has opened a new Mitsubishi Motors 3S centre in Bintulu, Sarawak. This marks Mitsubishi’s second 3S outlet in the state. With a built up area of 3,000 square feet, the new 3S Centre houses a customer lounge, and a fully-equipped workshop capable of servicing up to three Mitsubishi cars with parts storage area. The 3S centre comes with fully equipped advance diagnostic tools and Special Set Tools (SST) to serve every Mitsubishi vehicle. With the opening of Auto Pacifica, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) is now represented by 54 showrooms (out of which 48 are 3S Centres) and 55 service outlets throughout Malaysia.  In East Malaysia, MMM is represented by 15 showrooms (7 in Sarawak and 8 in Sabah).

Perodua narrows Aruz order-delivery gap

Perodua has increased the deliveries of the Aruz to an average of 110 units daily and have 52% of the 25,000 bookings fulfilled. Perodua CEO Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad states that they are working closely with the suppliers to further shrink the gap between orders and deliveries. Pending the Malaysian Automotive Association’s (MAA) official numbers, Perodua sold 22,943 vehicles by its own count throughout May 2019. This brings its five-month tally to 105,743 units – an 8.5% jump over the 97,487 units it sold from January through May 2018.

Petronas introduces ROVR, Malaysia’s first mobile refuelling service

Since its pilot in October 2018, ROVR has been serving commercial customers and delivered over 1 million litres of fuel. End consumers will soon be able to experience ROVR with Primax95 with Pro-Drive as Petronas will be widening its coverage area beyond the current network of stations nationwide. ROVR’s current fleet includes a 4,000-liter capacity and three 11,000-liter capacity trucks for commercial customers. ROVR’s 3,000-liter capacity truck for end-consumers is at its pilot stage. By the end of this year, PDB will expand ROVR services nationwide and set up more refuelling sites.

Proton achieves highest sales since July 2015

May 2019 was a comeback for Proton as they posted its highest sales figure since July 2015. At 10,611 units sold in May, the 51.3% increase over April helped pushed the company’s overall sales growth for the first five months of the year to over 70% compared to the same period in 2018. The Proton X70 is the brand’s latest achievement, with a total of 13,572 delivered since January 2019.

Proton’s “Intelligence that Inspires Challenge” competition brings student ideas to life

The competition by Proton is to showcase university student’s creativity and execution capabilities when it comes to leading a large-scale marketing campaign. The contest is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Education and will run until the end of July. Contestants will have to plan and deploy their campaign for the Proton X70 in the city where their university is located; organise and execute whole community relations event in their districts.

Subaru cars now come with 5-year comprehensive warranty

All Subaru cars booked from 29 April 2019 will now come with a five-years or up to 100,000 km warranty (whichever is earlier). Warranties will be the same over five years and owners must adhere to the scheduled service intervals at authorised Subaru service centres. TC Subaru will not be able to extend this programme to owners who use non-genuine parts or carry out technical alterations not authorised or approved by the company.
