Rolls-Royce achieves record breaking 2018 sales!

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has accomplished several records for 2018 including their best ever annual sales of 4,107 in the brand’s 115-year history delivered to customers in over 50 countries worldwide.

The highlight for the Rolls-Royce year has to be launch of the Cullinan, the company’s first ever luxury SUV. The SUV has received a wide reception; with a few delivered to customers by Christmas and the forward order book is filling into the second half of 2019.

“2018 was a most successful, record-breaking year for Rolls-Royce. We have seen growth in all our regions around the world. At Rolls-Royce we are deeply focused on each and every one of our customers and are delivering on their demanding expectations. The Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood is acknowledged and celebrated as a global centre of luxury manufacturing excellence, where our skilled, dedicated team create the world’s finest, most sought-after luxury products. We set a formidable mark in 2018: I am confident it will prove to spur to even greater success in 2019,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

On top of the record sales, the brand also saw unprecedented demand for its Bespoke creations – where Rolls-Royce specialist craftspeople delivered some of the most ambitious customer commissions ever undertaken at Goodwood spanning design, engineering, materials and methods of technical brilliance.

This also saw the brand employ 200 new associates in skilled manufacturing roles that now exceeds 2,000 people for the first time since the plant opened in 2003. The single-line manufacturing system at Goodwood installed in 2017 proved to be successful in its first year of operations. Further refinements were done in manufacturing facilities, equipment and processes to maximise efficiency and ensure the level of quality demanded by their customers.

To add on, a record intake of 23 new entrants to the Apprenticeship Programme is one that also set new numbers. Since its launch in 2006, more than 100 candidates have completed the transition from beginner to highly-skilled specialist – with most still with the company and in senior technical and supervisory roles.
