Honda has come up as the second highest carmaker in terms of 2017 sales performance with 109,511 cars sold in Malaysia. The brand has retained its No. 1 position for non-national segment cars for three consecutive years and has recorded the highest-ever sales record in the company’s history since its establishment in 2003. In fact, 2017 also marks the company’s first achievement of over 100,000 units and the highest a non-national brand has ever achieved in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia launched six models in 2017, including the BR-V, City, Jazz, City Hybrid, Jazz Hybrid, CR-V and Civic Type R. Of all, the brand’s best-selling model is the City, that contributed 27 per cent of sales, followed by HR-V at 17 per cent, BR-V at 16 per cent and Civic at 14 per cent respectively. To put this into perspective, the brand sold on average 300 cars a day for the whole of 2017.
Yet it isn’t just new cars that Honda Malaysia introduced in 2017, the brand brought for the first time, Honda Sensing with the new CR-V and the Turbo and Sport Hybrid i-DCD technology in the Jazz and City Hybrid that made history for Malaysians to be the only cars available outside of Japan.
For aftersales, Honda Malaysia introduced Honda Pride focusing on 12 specially designed benefits of 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage, genuine parts and comfortable dealer showroom as part of better customer experience and top quality services. Number of service intakes also clocked in more than 1,150,000 vehicles serviced, an increase of 13 per cent from 2016.
