About You
This position will report to the Manager, Logistics Route, working closely with departments across the organization, such as supply chain and commercial. As the Assistant Manager, Logistics Control Tower, you are responsible for monitoring and coordinating logistics operations in real-time, ensuring on-time delivery of goods, and maintaining high-quality service levels. You work closely with logistics, inventory, business development team, and other stakeholders to track shipments, identify and resolve transportation issues, and optimize logistics performance.
Your Day-to-Day
- Monitor logistics operations in real-time to ensure on-time delivery of goods
- Track shipments and provide regular updates to customers and stakeholders
- Identify and resolve transportation issues, including delays, route changes, and missed deliveries
- Collaborate with logistics fleet teams to optimize vehicle capacity and utilization
- Communicate with customers and vendors regarding delivery schedules and changes
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation activities and costs
- Coordinate with inventory team to ensure timely loading and unloading of goods
- Continuously monitor and improve logistics performance metrics
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and carriers
- Implement logistics process improvements to enhance performance and service levels
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through optimization of logistics activities
Your Know-How
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven experience in logistics or transportation operations, with at least 2 years of experience in a control tower role
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
- Able to work 6 days per week, with shift rotation at night, weekends, and public holidays
