The new Mitsubishi Triton Quest is the most affordable pick-up truck in Malaysia

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has introduced on 14th November 2019, the new Triton Quest. Aimed as the entry level Triton for Mitsubishi, the new Triton Quest facelift features Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front design.

The Triton range with the new Dynamic Shield front was officially launched earlier this year, with five variants sporting the new look. Now the Quest joins the updated line-up. Essentially an everyday low-rider pick-up truck, the Quest would suit the needs of the everyday commercial owner that needs the 970 kg load capacity but with the easy loading from the lower ride. Compared to the 18 and 17-inch rims on the top range Triton’s, the Quest comes with humble 15-inchers.

Power comes from a 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with an output of 110 PS and 200 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed manual and a 4×2 rear-wheel drivetrain. Mitsubishi states that the Quest has a ‘Best-In-Class’ turning radius of 5.7 metres which should make it easier to handle and drive on narrow roads and crowded working sites.

Despite being the entry Triton, there are an array of safety features that include seatbelts with pretentioners, Electronic Time and Alarm Control System (ETACS), Lane Change Turn Signal System, Power Window Timer, Headlamp Auto off Function, Auto Speed Adjustable Wipers and a 15-second interior light delay. This is supplemented with dual SRS Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution.

For the driver, there is a new Multi-information Display that gives a list of information including mileage range, service reminder, fuel range and average fuel consumption. As for storage space, there’s a rear seat storage compartment that is easy-to-reach yet hidden from plain view.

The Mitsubishi Triton Quest is only available in the shade of White Pearl and is priced at RM 79,890 on the road without insurance. Ownership includes a 5 years or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
