Sunway is looking to change the way you park your car. The preview of Sunway Smart Parking makes it the largest fully integrated license plate recognition system that uses multiple e-wallet partners including GrabPay, Boost, WeChat Pay, Alipay, Touch N’ Go Digital, Maybank QR and even credit partners MasterCard, Visa, American Express, JCB, UnionPay and MyDebit.
Sunway Smart Parking will be rolled out within Sunway City in Klang Valley which includes Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Hotels and Menara Sunway. It is the first smart parking system to have multiple e-wallet payment options for better convenience. The system is currently online for season parkers and will be rolled out to the public in the first quarter of 2020.
How Does It Work?
With Sunway Smart Parking, there is not a need to retrieve and pay using a parking ticket during entry and exit. Users only need to register their car plate number through the Sunway Parking portal. Once registered, the used needs to ensure that their car plate is attached to a participating e-wallet to make payment, enabling an easy in and out of Sunway properties without hassle.
What happens when a driver comes into the car park? The licence plates will be scanned by a recognition system which will identify the vehicle and lift the parking boom gate.
What If I Do Not Have Cashless options?
Currently users can pay with a Touch N’ Go card or through the auto payment system for this period to allow time for adoption. Shoppers who register their car plate numbers during the pre-registration period will get to enjoy a one-time free parking when it is open to the public.
