If you happen to drive a plug-in electric vehicle, occasionally struggle to find a vacant charging bay, and live or work within the Sunway area, you are in luck. BMW Malaysia together in partnership with ParkEasy, Shell Malaysia and Sunway Group have launched the new Reserve + Shell Recharge Bays at Sunway Pyramid.
The collaboration between ParkEasy and Shell Malaysia brought together BMW Malaysia and Sunway Group on a parking reservation service that allows users and drivers of Plug-in vehicles to reserve a lot and recharge their cars via the ParkEasy app. The launch of the new Reserve + Shell Recharge Bays form part of BMW Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to drive e-mobility forward in Malaysia. The convenience and availability of these facilities are important in driving the shift needed towards BMW’s visionary mobility.
In total, 10 charging bays will span across three major Sunway Group properties with five bays in Sunway Pyramid, three in Sunway Pinnacle and two in Sunway Velocity.
How does it work? ParkEasy users can reserve a spot at the Recharge Bays up to 60 minutes ahead, assuring drivers of parking and charging availability. Recharging is complimentary and the credits in the ParkEasy app is only deducted for the reservation and hourly use of the parking bays. Based on ParkEasy’s rates, 1 credit in the app is equivalent to RM 1. Weekday bookings cost 3 credits, weekends for 5 credits, and the hourly fees cost 2.8 credits.
Beginning July 2019, owners of BMW Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles will be entitled to exclusive BMW Privileges at the Reserve + Shell Recharge Bays. They include an e-starter pack for new BMW PHEV owners and an e-gift card to existing BMW PHEV owners for the use of the facilities at the Sunway Group properties. They can enjoy the BMWMY promo code to redeem five ParkEasy credits for use at the bays and is available from today until 31st July 2019, limited to 2,000 users.
