Michelin has launched their annual road safety campaign titled Michelin Safe on The Road (MSoR) to once again drive their commitment on mobility safety in Malaysia. The road safety campaign aims at highlighting the importance of tyre maintenance and periodic checks as part of good road safety practices. For the month of May 2019, Michelin staff and experts will be conducting tyre checks and assessments for the public at various locations throughout Malaysia.
Although it is common knowledge that accidents are mostly caused by reckless driving, it is also caused by vehicle failure due to lack of maintenance. Tyres are one of the most critical safety part of a vehicle as it is where braking happens.
As part of the MSoR Truck roadshow, in-truck road safety education will be provided as well as complimentary tyre checks including air pressure, tread wear and overall tyre condition. Michelin consultants will be on site several locations nationwide from 11am to 8pm to provide valuable advice on how to prolong the lifespan of the tyres. Participating motorists will also be receiving car service voucher with free Petron card worth RM 50 when they spend in Michelin Expert Centre.
“Malaysia recorded its highest number of road accidents ever last year and this urgently calls for a greater road safety awareness. The Michelin truck that will be part of this campaign will be travelling from place to place to remind the public that tyres are their first line of defence on the road and are key to ensuring their own safety during their journey,” said Muhammad Arya Subrata, Michelin Malaysia Commercial Director for B2B.
Last year, Michelin successfully conducted 1,100 tyre checks in more than 26 locations nationwide. This year, MSoR expands to more locations in the North and South of Peninsular Malaysia. Do visit the MSoR truck at the locations below beginning Friday 3rd May 2019.
