Aesthetically, the new Outback has a facelifted front bumper and wider hexagonal grille, new design LED headlamps with daytime running lights, and 18-inch turbine-shaped rims. What does EyeSight do? The system will apply brakes or reduce throttle to minimise the risk of a collision. There are six main functions of EyeSight, these include:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/EyeSight---Pre-Collision-Braking-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/EyeSight---Pre-Collision-Braking-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-Collision Braking<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This system warns the driver with audible and visual warnings on the dash. If the driver does not take evasive action to avoid a collision, the system can automatically apply the brakes to reduce any impact or, if possible, prevent the collision. If the driver takes evasive action to avoid a collision, it helps prevent it from happening.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/EyeSight---Adaptive-Cruise-Control-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/EyeSight---Adaptive-Cruise-Control-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adaptive Cruise Control<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Apart from maintaining speed as would a traditional cruise control does, ACC adjusts the speed to keep a set distance from the lead vehicle by monitoring the distance and the difference of the speed. It adjusts the engine, transmission and brake to keep your speed in line with the traffic flow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/EyeSight---Pre-Collision-Throttle-Management-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/EyeSight---Pre-Collision-Throttle-Management-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-Collision Throttle Management<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 When EyeSight sees an obstacle in front of you and the vehicle is placed into Drive instead of Reverse, Pre-Collision Throttle Management sounds several short beeps, turns on the indicators and cuts engine output to help you avoid a frontal collision.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/EyeSight---Lane-Departure-and-Lane-Sway-Warning-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/EyeSight---Lane-Departure-and-Lane-Sway-Warning-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lane Departure Warning<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 At speeds of 50 km\/h or more, the system warns you should you drift to the edge of your lane or begin to depart your lane without signalling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lane Sway Warning<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This system helps you stay alert with a buzzer and a flashing indicator that only activates at speeds of 60 km\/h or more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/Subaru-Outback---EyeSight-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/Subaru-Outback---EyeSight-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lead Vehicle Start Alert<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 When you\u2019re at a stop and EyeSight senses that traffic has moved again, Lead Vehicle Start Alert prompts the driver to take action with a buzzer and a flashing indicator.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/FCP2250718TH005-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/FCP2250718TH005-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On top of the EyeSight safety features in the Outback, Rear Vehicle Detection, front and side view monitors, seven airbags and steering responsive headlights join the safety list.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru Outback w Eyesight\/FCP2250718TH006-rs.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Subaru%20Outback%20w%20Eyesight\/FCP2250718TH006-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This 2.5-litre variant comes with the same four-cylinder boxer unit that outputs 173 hp and 235 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
