This is All You Need to Know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Released in 2008, the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/world-records\/first-car-with-a-constant-crash-avoidance-system\"> <b><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Volvo XC60<\/span><\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the first car to constantly monitor and avoid the possibility of a front-to-rear crash by using a laser in the windscreen. This is similar to the <\/span><b>Pre-Collision Braking (PCB)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under <\/span><b>Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Every car manufacturer has a different name for their advanced driving assistant, but they all fall under what is known globally as <\/span><b>Advanced Driver-Assistance System<\/b> <b>(ADAS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a set of advanced driving assistance designed to increase the safety of driving, while improving the driver\u2019s ability to react to dangers on the road and mitigate potential collisions or accidents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is no different than ADAS; it\u2019s a suite of active safety systems to protect the driver and people around. The all-new <\/span><b>2018 Perodua Myvi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was the first car from Perodua to include <\/span><b>ADAS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or in Perodua\u2019s marketing terms &#8211; It will also alert the driver with a buzzer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Front Departure Alert (FDA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alerts the driver when the vehicle in front has moved, usually when the car has stopped at a traffic light or in a traffic jam. <\/span><b>FDA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> notifies the driver to start moving.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Pedal Misoperation Control (PMC)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suppresses engine output and automatically applies the brakes when the driver accidentally stomps on the accelerator pedal. This also works in a parking lot when the car is facing a wall and the driver wants to reverse but mistakenly shifts the gear into \u2018D\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Lane Departure Warning (LDW)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> warns the driver via a buzzer when it detects unintentional departure from the traveling lane.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">assists the driver to avoid unintended lane departure. If the driver does not respond to the warning buzzer, the system applies a small corrective force to the steering wheel to assist the driver in keeping within the lane.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">allows the car to travel at a constant pre-selected speed and automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Lane Keep Control (LKC) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a function that supports necessary steering operations to keep your car within a road lane. <\/span><b>LKC <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">works together with <\/span><b>ACC<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but itdoes not work when <\/span><b>ACC <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is inactive.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">addresses blind spots by detecting vehicles that are out of the viewing angle, using indicators on the side-view mirror.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a support system that detects incoming or approaching vehicles from behind.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>How Do You Use PSDA?<\/b><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <b>PSDA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>A.S.A <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utilizes two cameras (stereo cameras) mounted in the front of the inside rear view mirror which detects vehicles up to about 70 meters (pedestrians up to 45 meters) ahead.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order for the <\/span><b>PSDA <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <\/span><b>A.S.A<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to operate properly, the windshield view in front of the cameras cannot be obstructed by something (dirt, fog, stickers, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>PSDA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>A.S.A<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is <\/span><b>turned on automatically<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> upon starting the engine unless the driver turns it off.
