Honda Malaysia has officially launched the facelifted 2020 Civic<\/a><\/span> sedan. The latest Civic is locally assembled and Honda continues to offer the latest range in three variants \u2013 1.8 S, 1.5 TC and 1.5 TC-P. The 10th<\/sup> generation Civic took a 72% market share of the C-segment category in 2019 and according to Honda Malaysia, is the current most sought-after model, with more than 48,000 units sold since its launch in 2016<\/p>\n

Engine and power<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The 1.8 S variant features the same specifications and power as its predecessor. It is powered by a 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that outputs 139 hp and 174 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. The other two variants are powered by a 1.5-liter VTEC four-cylinder turbocharged engine with an output of 171 hp and 220 Nm of torque from 1,700 to 5,500 rpm. All variants are mated to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).<\/p>\n

Exterior and interior upgrades<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visually, exterior updates include a new front bumper with black trim on the front grille and a new rear bumper design. A new trunk spoiler exclusively for the 1.5 TC-P variant injects some sportiness into the top-spec model. The easily spotted differences between variants for the new Civic is in the rims. The 1.8 S and 1.5 TC-P variants now comes with new sporty 16-inch and 18-inch black alloy wheels, respectively, while the 1.5 TC maintains the 17-inch design found on the previous range.<\/p>\n

In the cabin, new standard additions include a volume knob with physical access buttons on the infotainment unit, control switches for the air conditioning fan and a 60:40 split of the rear passenger seats for better practicality.<\/p>\n

The infotainment unit\u2019s main highlight features are still present, including smartphone connectivity for both Apple Carplay and Android Auto, as well as crucial information that can be displayed from the driver\u2019s digital dashboard unit.<\/p>\n

Honda Sensing and updated safety<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new Civic is the fourth model from Honda Malaysia to include the brand\u2019s Sensing \u2013 a suite of eight advanced driver-assistive technologies. Only available on the top 1.5 TC-P variant, Sensing provides lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, lane keep assist system, auto high beam, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control and low speed follow.<\/p>\n

Standard passive safety includes six airbags, vehicle stability assist, agile handle assist, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake distribution (EBD), auto brake hold and hill start assist and front sensors newly added with this facelift. The 1.5-liter turbo variants do get Honda\u2019s LaneWatch, to view the driver\u2019s blind spot via a camera located on the wing mirror.<\/p>\n

The Honda Civic range is priced at RM113,600<\/strong> for the 1.8 S, RM129,600<\/strong> for the 1.5 TC and RM139,600<\/strong> for the 1.5 TC-P. Prospective buyers will have five shades to choose from \u2013 white orchid pearl, crystal pearl black, modern steel metallic, lunar silver metallic and the new passion red pearl. Honda\u2019s warranty is five years with unlimited mileage with terms and conditions, and free labor service up to five times within 100,000 km or five years.<\/p>\n
