The public will have a chance to enjoy a 50% discount for offenders to settle their outstanding traffic summonses from January 18 to February 1.<\/p>\n

The campaign is to encourage traffic offenders to settle their summons during the festive season. At a recent press conference, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director – Datuk Azisman Alias said it is also in conjunction with the police\u2019s plans for 2020. \u201cFor this year, the police would emphasize e-payments that can be made online via MyEG and Rilex.com for any party, negating the need for long queues,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n

According to Alias, there were 5,763 reported cases of fatal crashes last year compared to 5,870 cases the year before.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the JSPT\u2019s (Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department) key performance index, where we have reduced fatal accidents by 107 cases or 1.8%. Although the number is small, this is our KPI, and we expect this number to reduce every year,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
