The price for RON-97 has been reduced by 3 sen to RM2.62, effective from January 11 to 17. The prices for RON-95 and diesel are unchanged at RM2.08 and RM2.18 respectively, as announced by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently.<\/p>\n

The government has decided to cap the retail prices for RON-95 at RM2.08 and diesel at RM2.18 to reduce the burden on the public. Without the subsidized prices and under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), the price of RON-95 and diesel should be at RM2.32 and RM2.46 per liter, respectively.<\/p>\n

The MoF states that this week\u2019s subsidy of petrol will cost the government an estimated RM122.85 million \u2013 RM83.16 million for RON-95 and RM39.69 million for diesel.<\/p>\n

Weekly fuel prices will continue to be announced every Friday.<\/p>\n
