Power study finds improved Initial Quality in New Vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year\u2019s 2019 J.D Power Malaysia Initial Quality Study received responses from 1,904 new vehicle owners who purchased their vehicles from July 2018 to August 2019. The study included 50 passenger cars, pick-ups and utility vehicle models of 12 brands. The study was fielded between March and October 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The report found that vehicle owners in Malaysia are experiencing fewer problems with their new vehicles than in 2018, which is mostly attributed to a decline in manufacturing-related issues.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16256 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/jazz-side.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"551\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/jazz-side.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/jazz-side-300x165.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/jazz-side-768x423.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The initial quality measures the number of problems experience per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first two to six months of ownership, with a lower count reflecting higher quality. In this year\u2019s study, the industry average dropped 4 points in 2018 to 85 PP100 this year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16257 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/J.D.-Power-2019-Malaysia-IQS-Charts-English-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1125\" height=\"1500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/J.D.-Power-2019-Malaysia-IQS-Charts-English-2.jpg 1125w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/J.D.-Power-2019-Malaysia-IQS-Charts-English-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/J.D.-Power-2019-Malaysia-IQS-Charts-English-2-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1125px) 100vw, 1125px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The study rankings for vehicles this year found Honda dominating the four main segments with the Jazz, City and CR-V as the highest in the City Compact, Entry Midsize and Large SUV categories. Of the rankings, Perodua also fared well, with the Aruz placed at the top of the Compact SUV segment, the Axia second in the City Compact and the Bezza third in the Entry Midsize segment.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16253 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/br-v.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"933\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/br-v.jpg 933w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/br-v-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/br-v-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 933px) 100vw, 933px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Of the key findings of the 2019 study, it also found that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Most problems are irritants:<\/strong> Excessive wind noise and excessive road noise continues to be the top two most cited problems. \u201cBuilt-in Bluetooth mobile phone has frequent pairing\/connectivity issues\u201d is the third most reported problem, followed with Radio problems as the fourth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Younger car owners indicate more problems:<\/strong> Customers who are 35 years old and younger were found to cite more problems than owners who were 35 years or older. Of the problems, categories included \u2013 features\/controls\/displays and the vehicle interior as highest.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Quality builds advocacy and loyalty:<\/strong> Among new vehicle owners who did not indicate any problems, 49% said they \u201cdefinitely will\u201d recommend their brand and model to friends or relatives, compared with 37% of those who had encountered at least one problem with their vehicle. One-third of new vehicle owners who did not experience any problems with their vehicle also said that they will purchase a vehicle from the same brand the next time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Do you also want to find out about J.D.
