The new Golf will be the first Volkswagen to launch onto the market with five hybrid versions and will also be the first VW with Car2X communication fitted as standard.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>360-degree look<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17591 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/golf-mk8-360-rs.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17594 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/golf-mk8-lights-rs.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17595 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/golf-mk8-rearlights-rs.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hybrid Drivetrains<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15953 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01490_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01490_large.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01490_large-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01490_large-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This new debut will see a belt starter generator, 48V lithium-ion battery and the latest generation of efficient TSI engines form a new mild hybrid drive in the eTSI. The benefits here is that consumption has been reduced by up to 10 per cent. VW will offer the Golf in three eTSI output stages, a 110 PS, 130 PS and 150 PS.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15952 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01489_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01489_large.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01489_large-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01489_large-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Two plug-in hybrid variants will also join the mild hybrids, with a new efficiency version generation 204 PS while the sporty GTE delivers 245 PS. Both Golf\u2019s with plug-in hybrid drives will launch with a new 13 kWh lithium-ion battery on board that enables larger electrically powered ranges of approximately 60 km, turning the Golf into a zero-emissions vehicle temporarily.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Efficient Petrol and Diesels<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15957 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01552_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01552_large.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01552_large-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01552_large-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The full range includes a petrol (TSI), diesel (TDI) and natural gas drive (TGI). For the TSI, variants of the smaller 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engines with 90 PS and 110 PS will lead the entry range, followed by a bigger 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo with 130 PS and 150 PS. The new TSI&#8217;s have low consumption values and emissions thanks to elements including the innovative TSI Miller combustion process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15956 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01551_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01551_large.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01551_large-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01551_large-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The diesels on the other hand will feature a new standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbos with 115 PS and 150 PS. Most importantly, the TDI powertrains uses twin-dosing technology (two SCR catalytic converters) to significantly reduce nitrogen oxide emission (NOx) by up to 80 per cent; additionally, TDI consumption is lowered by up to 17 per cent compared to its predecessor.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the range is the natural gas driven 1.5-litre TGI engine with 130 PS.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digital Controls<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15946 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01461_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01461_large.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01461_large-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01461_large-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17593 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/golf-mk8-ins-clst-rs.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17592 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/golf-mk8-infot-rs.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The minimalist design has made almost everything digital. The Automatic transmission units now have a much smaller gear knob as opposed to a lever, akin to that on the latest Porsche 911.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Always Connected and Car2X<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15945 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01456_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01456_large.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01456_large-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01456_large-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to an online connectivity unit, systems are linked to each other and features an integrated eSIM that links to \u201cWe Connect\u201d and \u201cWe Connect Plus\u201d online functions and services. If you are wondering what Car2X is, it is a system where signals from the traffic infrastructure and information from other vehicles up to 800 metres away are notified to the driver via a display. On the road, the Golf will share these warnings with other Car2X models, connecting to the environment, and sharing intelligence for the next phase in traffic safety, and is a first for the model.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15966 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01561_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"933\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01561_large.jpg 933w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01561_large-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp\/DB2019AU01561_large-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 933px) 100vw, 933px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t stop there. Semi-autonomous driving technology called \u2018Travel Assist\u2019 takes over steering, acceleration and braking at speeds of up to 210 km\/h.
