Mazda Malaysia has launched the updated 2019 CX-5 in the market. There are five variants on sale including a new top spec 2.5-litre Turbocharged engine version. In terms of variant differences and tiered pricing, the new 2.5-litre Turbo AWD now replaces the previous 2.2 Diesel AWD as the highest of the range. Just like before, the latest CX-5 is locally assembled at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah.<\/p>\n

As this is an updated to the current model, the differences are more visible at the interior than exterior.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As standard, exterior equipment apart from the entry 2.0L Mid includes a full LED head and tail lights, LED fog lights and LED DRLs. The 2.0-litre models get 17-inch rims while the higher spec gets 19-inch units.<\/p>\n

The interior is largely similar as well, with changes seen in the driver instrument cluster which is now similar to the one seen in the latest Mazda 3 (only for the 2.5L and 2.2 Diesel), and the climate control unit. The dashboard trim and seats across the range is a metal and wood combo and leather while the 2.0L Mid gets Gun Metallic and fabric seats. The Mazda Connect infotainment unit is a 7-inch touchscreen which now gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as standard.<\/p>\n

A bonus for the 2.5L Turbo is the Active Driving Display, for heads up information on the windscreen.<\/p>\n

On the driving front, the Mazda i-Spot idling technology and GVC Plus is available on all variants. This is the same for the Passive safety. Standard there\u2019s Six Airbags, ABS, DSC, EBD, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Launch Assist, Auto Hold, Isofix, Seat Belt warning, pretensioners, load limiters, and emergency locking retractor.<\/p>\n

Advance Safety tech unfortunately isn\u2019t available on the 2.0L Mid, but the 2.0L High comes with Adaptive Front Lighting System, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Front Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection. The 2.5L High adds on Rear Smart City Brake Support and Driver Attention Alert and the top spec 2.2L Diesel and 2.5L Turbo gets Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist Systems.<\/p>\n
