In conjunction with the 62nd<\/sup> Merdeka anniversary, Proton has launched the X70 Merdeka Edition, a limited 62 unit run of the brand\u2019s first SUV. The unveiling was done at one of its dealers, Ming Heng Motors in Setapak. Available exclusively in the Premium variant, the Merdeka Edition will only be available in either Snow White or Flame Red and priced at RM 126,100<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The differences from the standard X70 comes in the form of an exterior styling package and interior trim. For the exterior, the Merdeka Edition will be available in the two colours, on top of a signature Quartz Black to the roof, A-pillar, wing mirrors and spoiler. Door visors have also been added all-around together with a rear bumper scuff plate and a customised Merdeka Edition emblem on the tailgate.<\/p>\n

For the inside, there\u2019s new floor mats, trunk mat, and a special numbered emblem located on the passenger side dashboard to make each unit unique. The Nappa leather seats and glass roof along with the Advanced Driver Assistance System found in the Premium variant are all standard in this edition.<\/p>\n

Mechanically, the Premium edition comes with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged DOHC engine with 181 hp and 285 Nm of torque from 1,700 to 4,400 rpm mated to a 6-speed Automatic with Manual Mode with drive going to the front wheels.<\/p>\n
