Because of the repositioning in the brand\u2019s models, the upcoming second generation CLA Coup\u00e9 will be more premium than before.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine-Media_%20%28162%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><strong>What variants will be available?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Like the A-Class hatchback, the sedan will also be available in two variants \u2013 the A 200 Progressive Line and A 250 AMG Line. The former is powered by a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine outputting 163 hp with 250 Nm of torque from 1,620 to 4,000 rpm while the A 250 comes with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit producing 224 hp with 350 Nm from 1,800 to 4,000 rpm. As for century sprint times, the A 200 takes 8.1-seconds and the A 250 does it in 6.3-seconds. Both cars\u2019 engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic with power to the front wheels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine-Media_%20%28160%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/18C0485_111.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><strong>What\u2019s special about the A-Class sedan?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Well, apart from being the first ever sedan in the A-Class line up, the sedan like its hatchback sibling brings all the amazing digitalization and equipment seen in a package that\u2019s 130 mm longer than the five-door hatch. The additional boot size adds 50-litres to the 370-litre in the hatch for a total of 420-litres.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomesg.s3.amazonaws.com\/2019%20Mercedes%20A-%20sedan%20aero\/18C0572_03-rs.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But what is most interesting is the shape of the A-Class sedan. It holds the current world record for being the most aerodynamic production car on the planet. With a coefficient drag of 0.22, this figure equals the previous record held by the CLA Coup\u00e9. Because the frontal area of 2.19 m\u00b2 is smaller than the CLA and has a drag of less than 0.49 m\u00b2, the A-Class sedan is the current aerodynamic king.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine-Media_%20%28157%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><strong>What about the differences between variants?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For the exterior, the A 250 is kit with the AMG Line package that puts on sportier bumpers and 18-inch AMG five twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. As for the A 200, the Progressive Line is a little more toned down but also comes with 18-inch five twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. As for the interior, the look is revolutionary for the compact class segment, bringing inspiration from the brand\u2019s higher end cars including the 64-colour ambient lighting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine%20%282%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The design of the dashboard extends from one door to the other without visual discontinuity and is highlighted by the newly designed centre-console area and two 10.25-inch instrument and infotainment displays.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine%20%281%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The trim difference for the A 200 and A 250 is the Black open-pore linden wood trim on the former, while the latter comes with a Light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim. Here the higher variant also gets sports and heated front seats.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine%20%283%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><strong>What are the standard equipment included on both?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The infotainment system is identical with Mercedes\u2019 latest MBUX on both, hard-disc navigation, touchpad, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as well as the safety and assistance package. This includes a Reversing Camera, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, Active Brake Assist, Cruise Control, Keyless-Go, Pre-Safe and Tyre pressure monitoring system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/carsomemy.s3.amazonaws.com\/News\/Mercedes%20A-Class%20sedan%20launch\/A-Class%20Limousine-Media_%20%28156%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><strong>How much do they cost?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re happy to say that the A 200 sedan is the cheapest sedan you can now get from Mercedes-Benz at RM 229,888. The A 250 sedan is priced at RM 267,888. This puts the sedans at a RM 2,000 and RM 4,000 premium over the hatchbacks.
