Yesterday, Perodua launched a 5-year nationwide road safety campaign in view to improve the general behaviour of drivers and point out the importance of safe driving. The programme's focus is on the pillars of good driving habits, including the use of seatbelts, no use of mobiles devices while driving, appropriate turn-signalling, and the use of child-care seats.

Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar promised that the Perodua safety campaign will be flashed up to the public and targeted to reach one million customers within a year of the programme. The efforts will include putting up promotional materials in Perodua sales and service outlets nationwide.

Safety is important, in fact, using a car seat for infants under a year old can reduce the risk of death by 71 per cent and for toddlers up to the age of four by 54 per cent. The Perodua Child Seats newly launched have introductory prices of RM 660 for the Infant Seat and RM 780 for the Toddler Seat, and will be valid until Chinese New Year 2018. Then the standard prices for Infant Seat is RM 790, RM 980 for the Toddler Seat. These seats are considerably decent if you happen to be looking for one.
The Infant Seat is designed for infants weighing up to 13 kg only. For children weighing 9 – 36 kg, Toddler seats are offered as well in red or black colours. For those who are concerned about the installation and general safety of it, Datuk Aminar assures that Perodua’s authorised sales and service advisors will demonstrate how to install them properly to customers. These Malaysian-made child care seats are graded according to ECE R44 European safety standards and are certified to be comfortable and very safe for toddlers.
“We are firm supporters of the government’s efforts in enhancing road safety”, Aminar reaffirms. Perodua became one of the first carmakers in Malaysia to divulge in a social media-based safety campaign known as Tweckbot in 2011. The Perodua Tweckbot safety initiative offers a free 50-point vehicle inspection for all Perodua vehicles every festive period, and has inspected around 5,000 vehicles since inception. This is one of Perodua's main efforts in ensuring safety and roadworthiness of its vehicles nationwide.
