It is quite a busy month of new cars for September. Quite a number of launches and additional extras for new cars from Subaru's Forester, Lexus RX300, Toyota Fortuner, Innova and more. 

 

Honda Malaysia’s Takata Airbag Inflators Replacements Ongoing

As at September 2018, Honda Malaysia has completed more than 496,400 units or 84 per cent of replacements. The remaining affected vehicles are as below.

Stock availability for driver and passenger front airbag inflator replacement is at 100 per cent for all models and replacement of affected airbags is free of charge for any cost related to the inflators replacements. Honda has a total of 94 Honda authorised service dealers nationwide to prioritise replacements. There are also dedicated Mobile Hubs at selected shopping malls and Petronas stations which do not require appointments; with walk-ins welcomed.

 

2018 Jaguar F-Type Coupé 2.0L now available

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has unveiled the 2018 F-Type Coupé with the new 2.0-litre turbocharged Ingenium engine producing 296 hp and 400 Nm of torque from 1,500 rpm. The latest update includes a redesigned bumper, new LED head and tail lights, as well as 18-inch wheels. There’s also a Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen that has a quad-core processor, 60GB SSD and Ethernet network. The F-Type 2.0 Ingenium retails at RM 575,800 without insurance.

 

2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport 2.0L joins the range

The brand also has unveiled the latest Discovery Sport to be fitted with the 2.0-litre turbocharged Ingenium petrol delivering 237 hp and 340 Nm of torque. Paired to a nine-speed ZF automatic transmission, the ratios provide excellent response as with a very low first gear, improved mid-range acceleration and reduced engine revs at higher cruising speeds. Although the Discovery Sport comes as a 5-seater standard, it can be optionally configured to a 5 plus 2 seating. The 2018 Discovery Sport is priced at RM 379,800 excluding insurance.

 

Lexus introduces RX300 Special Edition

A new RX300 Luxury variant joins the line-up with additional accessories about RM 10,000 more. Accessories include an underbody panel on the front end, lower side mouldings, window visors, rear door step guard, welcome door lamp, Touch ‘n Go transmitter for use at SmartTAG lanes and a Digital Video Recorder for visual evidence in the event of an emergency. The RX300 is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 232 hp and 350 Nm of torque mated to a six-speed automatic that goes to all-wheels. The RX300 Special Edition is priced from RM 434,000.

 

2019 Maserati Levante S now available

Enhancements to the 2019 range includes a redesigned gearshift lever with shorter travel and improved operation. The GranSport trim has new front and rear bumpers inspired by the Levante GTS and Trofeo. Powertrain is the same with a 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 engine with 430 hp with 580 Nm of torque. The GranLusso trim has a choice of full premium Italian leather, Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery amongst many others including a Bowers and Wilkins Surround Sound system. The Levante S price starts from RM 788,800.

 

AMG Owners Community Malaysia launched

Mercedes-AMG owners will get to elevate their AMG experience as they become part of a dedicated and exclusive community with access to all things AMG – driving days, product previews, elite motorsport events and unique collectables. This includes invitations to preview new AMG automobiles, Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience to use their own AMGs on the track and more.

 

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia ranks highest in after-sales customer satisfaction

This year’s J.D. Power Malaysia Customer Service Index ranked MMM as the highest in all factors of service quality, vehicle pick-up, service initiation, service facility and service advisor among eight other brands. The index study is based on responses from 2,957 new-vehicle owners between March 2015 and July 2017, and vehicle service between March 2017 and July 2018.

 

Proton previews new X70 and a new 3S outlet opens in Puchong

Proton has unveiled their latest SUV that features Malaysian signature details which may be used on the brands future models. This includes the infinite weave patterns on the grille, speaker surrounds and door handle inserts, the ethereal bow grille shape that frames the centre badge, as well as the eye of the tiger DRLs that are instantly recognisable in the day or night. Bookings are also now open for the X70.

 

Earlier this month, Atiara Johan Sdn Bhd has also launched a new 3S dealer outlet in Puchong at Jalan Bandar 3. The service centre has 14 bays and 12 hoists that is open Mondays to Saturdays. This is in line with the brand’s focus on upgrading outlets for 3S and 4S status.

 

Subaru Forester 2.0 STI Performance joins line-up

A new variant of the Forester is now available, which sports a new exterior and interior upgrades. The variant retains the signature engine from the 2.0i-P variant with the 2.0-litre Boxer engine that produces 148 hp and 198 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. Accessories include the STI front and rear under spoilers, the STI flexible tower bar, front grille, cargo step panel, STI brake pads and STI air filter, all of which further refine the vehicle’s appearance and performance. Inside premium carpet mats and STI leather shift knob and side sill plate join the additions. The Forester 2.0 STI Performance is priced from RM 135,288 on the road without insurance.

 

Toyota Fortuner, Innova and Hilux gets new colour and upgrades

The Fortuner now has advanced driver assistance systems of VSC, BA, HAC, and Active Traction Control as standard for all variants. A-TRC provides more effective traction control in slippery conditions and especially in off-road conditions. Together with the Innova, both vehicles now has a power-operated rear cargo doors, smart entry and start system, LED headlamps and updated infotainment with smartphone connectivity to the internet on the move. All three models also have a new Phantom Brown colour.

 

Volvo XC90 T5 variant now available

Volvo Malaysia has added the XC90 T5 to its range that joins the T8 Inscription and Inscription Plus variants. The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine outputs 254 hp and 350 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic. Acceleration is 7.9-seconds with a 7.9-litre fuel consumption every 100 km. Customers will also get to choose a maroon brown interior colour and three new exterior colours of Chrystal White, Denim Blue and Maple Brown. The T5 will still have Volvo’s full suite of Intellisafe systems on board similar to the T8 siblings. The XC90 T5 will be priced at RM 373,888 on the road without insurance.

 

Volkswagen car prices remain with Price Protection Scheme

Despite the implementation of SST, Volkswagen Malaysia has announced an extension for its range of models until 15th November 2018. Any price differences from the zero GST prices will be absorbed by VW and applies to all models including locally assembled and imported. However, it is good to note that it applies only while stocks last.
